I used to look at smart phones somewhat cynically and somewhat enviously. Even thought I am a young business leader and certainly fall into the tech-savvy Generation-Y, I only recently added "smart-phone" to my repertoire of electronic assets.
I will never go back.
True, I own a tech-small business and perhaps having a smart-phone makes more sense in that case. But I'm not so sure anymore.
Think about it. What does every small business owner want more of? Revenues? Sales? Profit? Well yes, of course. But an equally true answer is a little thing called, time.
With more time, the small business owner understands that in addition to adding value to the company, he or she can add value to their life. The smart-phone does just that. By automating and aggregating data to one place, you can spend less time logging in, opening browsers, waiting until you're at a computer to send an email, etc. etc.
You're waiting in line at Wal-Mart? Send an email. Need to make a business call but can't remember the number? Look it up. Maximize your time; never lose a wasted moment throughout the day. Spend more time with your family in the evenings.
I'll be writing more about smart phones but I wanted to provide a quick list of some of the top smart phones on the market (PC Mag):
1. iPhone 4
2. Motorola Droid X
3. HTC EVO 4G
4. Samsung Captivate
5. Samsung Vibrant
