If you've performed a Google search recently, you probably noticed a bit of difference in the way your search results were displayed. This is due to Google bringing yet another innovation to the table called Google Instant.
Instant searches are not necessarily new. If you are a Facebook user, you are probably familiar with the way your typing seems to bring up a list of 'predictions'.
Google Instant functions in much the same way. Using Web 2.0 technology and philosophies, whenever you begin typing, Google makes predictions about what you might be searching for. The results are then loaded before you even finish typing and continues to refresh if your typing causes Google to change its mind (did I just personify Google?) about its predictions.
I have noticed the change and personally enjoy the change. However, like all changes, some will inevitably be unhappy with it. Time will only tell whether we save significant amounts of it by using this new feature.
